Harleen Deol has joined defending champions Barbados Tridents for the remainder of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2026.
The move fills their fifth overseas player slot. The India batter linked up with the franchise in Barbados and will remain available to the side until the tournament concludes.

Deol is currently not part of the India or India A squads. Her move to Barbados Tridents pushes the total number of Indian players in this year’s WCPL to five, which makes up a quarter of the 20 overseas slots available across the entire competition.
She joins a Tridents overseas contingent that already includes Kiran Navgire and Pooja Vastrakar. Both players bring Indian representation to the squad. The other two Indian players in the tournament, Shikha Pandey and Yastika Bhatia, turn out for Trinbago Knight Riders.
Deol’s International and Franchise Record
Deol has featured in 28 T20Is for India, scoring 311 runs across 20 innings at a strike rate of 92.01. She last played for India in March this year, which was a series against Australia. At the franchise level, she has represented Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League, and her numbers there read stronger than her international figures.
The Punjab-born batter has accumulated 649 runs from 28 WPL matches at a strike rate of 115.68. That record adds depth and experience to the Tridents’ middle order heading into the business end of the tournament.

Barbados Tridents have played just one match so far this WCPL season, and it did not go their way. Trinbago Knight Riders beat them by 21 runs in the tournament opener on September 5. Three Indian players stood out for the winners: Pandey picked up 3 for 17, Bhatia struck 35 off 28 balls, and Navgire chipped in 28 off 21 deliveries. That defeat leaves Tridents needing a response, and their upcoming fixtures give them the chance to find one. The side takes on Jamaica Empress on Saturday before facing Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday, and Deol’s arrival adds fresh batting options for both games.
Deol’s signing reflects a broader trend of Indian players featuring across the WCPL this season, even as several of them sit outside the current national setup. Her experience across formats and her strong strike rate at franchise level give Tridents another option in the batting lineup.
