Razaullah smashed 81 runs off just 63 balls to lead Pakistan’s second-innings resistance. Razaullah hit nine sixes during his aggressive knock. This achievement matched the record for the joint-most sixes by any player in a debut Test match.
His performance prevented a rapid three-day defeat for Pakistan and pushed the match into Saturday morning. On Day 4, England needed 130 runs to win the match. Ayub’s absence comes at a critical time for the Jamaica Kingsmen in CPL 2026 standings. The franchise has won four of its nine league matches so far. A heavy loss against the Barbados Tridents on Sunday could allow the fifth-placed Saint Lucia Kings to overtake Jamaica in the standings. Such a drop would eliminate the Kingsmen from the top four playoff positions.
Before his Test recall, Ayub had shown brilliant form in the Caribbean. He scored 127 runs across three CPL matches at a strike rate of 160.75, including a century. International duty has already hurt the Kingsmen once this season. The team lost to the Guyana Amazon Warriors last Saturday while Ayub represented Pakistan.
